MATERIALS

Milliput, decorators PVA, copper tape, spray paint, sandpaper and varnish.

To rescue this tattered mirror Henrietta started by painting on decorators PVA to seal in any loose plaster. The missing details were re-sculpted using Milliput. After a second coat of PVA the entire mirror surround was covered with copper tape. Spray paint was dappled on with a paintbrush and sandpapered away to create a worn metallic copper finish. Lastly, a coat of mat varnish was painted on to seal the finished mirror.
