GIANT DOUGHNUT

MATERIALS

Polystyrene, Flints Mud, emulsion paint, plaster, 3D printer filament and varnish.

Starting with a solid block of polystyrene, the rough shape of a doughnut was marked out, carved and sanded smooth.

Flints Mud was painted onto the basic poly shape to seal it. It was coated in emulsion paint to resemble doughnut dough. Gloopy plaster dripped on top looks like very convincing icing, and 3D printer filament snipped into small pieces resembles sprinkles. Finally a coat of varnish was painted on, to create a delicious doughnut shine.
