FAKE METALIC CIRCUIT BOARD

Pinewood Studios - Creative Media Skills

MATERIALS

Balsa wood, metallic and plastic scraps, Plastaline, liquid silicone mould, Fast Cast and acrylic paint.

To create the structure for this fake metal panel, metallic and plastic scraps were super-glued to a piece of balsa wood. Plastiline was used to create textured shapes to be glued on. A liquid silicone mould was made and used multiple times to cast the positive impression of the panel shape.

Metallic bronze acrylic paint was applied as a base coat. Light green paint was added to enhance the highlights. Dark green and brown paint were brushed on to accentuate the shadows and add a rusty finish.
